As parents of one to three year olds, we must keep the developmental needs of our children in mind. At this age communication and fine motor skills are limited, however these limitations do not inhibit the burgeoning desire for independence. So, nature always puts in place a saving grace! Yes, there is a saving grace. Children have an inborn sensitive period for order. At 18 months this sensitive period peaks to 2.5 years and continues until children are 5 years old. I call it a saving grace because this knowledge alone, if acted upon, can save parents a few tantrums and crying fits. This is
